Oi! – The Book Vol.1

Oi! - The sound of the street! Created in the beginning of the eighties in Londons working-class district East End, loved by the kids, despised from the media and almost ignorated from the music-industry, this genre still enjoys now, 15 years later, a great popularity in the whole world.

Meanwhile the origininal Punk of '77 became a fashionable trend, the protagonists of New Punk, bands like THE BUSINESS, COCKNEY REJECTS or ANGELIC UPSTARTS inspired the movement with new vitality. Bands from the old guard like MENACE or COCK SPARRER also lived to see a renaissance at the beginning of the last decade.

For the primary stir things like Saturdays football-results and questions like who will pay for the next pint had a more important meaning than however kinded party politics!

The present encyplopaedia shall illustrate the musical evolution as well of the popular as of the less noticed representatives of the genre.
