Dr. Bettina Roccor

Bettina Roccor, born at 30.12.1965, studied Ethnology, History and Philosophy in Freiburg and Regensburg. In 1992, she made her master, title of her master-work was "Heavy Metal - A Fan-Typlology By Means Of Clothing". After her master she was a scientific fellow-laborer at the university of Regensburg and supervised an archiv of folk-music from the National Socialism. In 1996, she graduated at "Heavy Metal - Art. Commercial. Heresy" with the mark "Summa cum laude". The author has published several articles about youth-culture, Heavy Metal and folk-music in scientific magazines and gave lectures on scientific congresses. Since 2001, she works as a project-leader for scientific research and software development for the welfare Syntegral GmbH.

Bettina Roccor made her first media experiences in the age of twelve as a speaker at the childrens-radio from Baden-Baden. From 1984 to 1990, she was a DJ in different mainstream- and underground-clubs in Baden-Baden and Freiburg. From 1991 to 1998, regularly she also wrote album- und concert-reviews for the "Regensburger Stadtzeitung". For two years, she worked as an internet-guide and supervised the ressort Rock and Pop at Clickfish.com. As a bassist and cellist, she was active member of two local bands. Today, she is playing again bass in a band.

The author was always a music freak, altough she didn't fixed one special direction. For her, there are genious bands in every field and without any problem she can first listen to Slayer and then to Celtic Sound System. Therefor, not only the list of her album-collection, but also the series of her live concerts in the last 20 years is very long. Bettina Roccor lives in Regensburg, is married and has two children.
